Continuing my journey into discovering other environments or coding languages to help build our installation, my next stop was another already know to me coding language – Python. I used it in the beginning of this year – during the first quarter project. It also has a lot of sound libraries and I decided to give it a go.
I managed to install again Python to my computer and after researching how to connect to Arduino, I just had to find a way to read and store the inforamtion from the Serial port, so the Arduino code remained the same.
I was able to implement the two working pings into a script in Python, but after a talk with the teachers and realising that Processing and Arduino are technically almost the same programm, I decided to stay with Processing. Also with Python there would be no teacher to help me and with Processing, every technical teacher is aware how to work.
