While still in the beginning of writing the whole code for the installation I had to make research on what other options we might have. Since we wanted to work with samples the Minim library in Processing is the only thing that works decent enough and it still creates a lot of probrems and has a lot of limitations. That is why I decided to look in to Max 7. I am aware of the software and its capabilities from last year when I used it for my Exhibition project.
At first sight Max looks perfect for what we want. If we decided to continue using samples it would give us more details and information about them and also offers better control over them. If we by any chance decided to go for modular theme then it would give us access to many options and shortcuts others programs do not offer. It might even go as far as to connect to Ableton Live where we would be able to use any instrument, sample, synthesizer or anything included in the program.
Sadly, learning materials were missing online and it was very hard for me to get into the language, how it works and how to use the stuff that I need.
