second_ultrasonic_sensor_and_implementation

Theway that the ultrasonic sensor( a.k.a “Ping”) works is the following – it sends and ultrasonic wave and then receives it back after it bounces off whatever is in front. Based on the time between the two events it can calculate on what distance the object is from you. Since our installation was supposed to detect people from multiple sides, we had to use multiple ultrasonic sensors as their soundwaves travel in a straight line.

My next task was to make sure that I can connect a second ping. If this was the case, I would know how to connect more at a later stage. I was not able to work anymore using my old shield from first year and I had to use a breadboard. This for me was something new I had never worked before with. I took me a couple of videos and some hours of playtime to get the hang of it, but I now see how useful and reuseable is everything on it and also not to forget – how much easier it is for me to take it back home and to be able to work there after school.

I managed to implement the code for the second ping, inside the code I already had for the first one and it was now printing me in the console the updated information for both ultrasonic sensors.
