first_demo_and_going_back_to_processing_and_arduino

Our first demo started slowly approaching. I had a talk with Andro, to make sure we are on the same page on what we are doing. He started working on our design document and I got to work on the prototype.

I was still keeping my Arduino Uno inside of the box I created for the last project of previous year and everything I used was still attached to it. For the demo we decide that is too early to create a box for it , and we kept it in the same box it was before. I removed the unnecessary potmeters and buttons and left only the infrared distance sensor. Using the IR it is can feel if something is moving in the front 20-30cms. Our idea was to have a much bigger radius around the music players, but for a first prptotype used to only explain the idea it was well received by both the teachers and the other 2 groups in our class.

I wrote a short script that was reading the values of the IR sensor and whenever you get in its range , it would start playing music and the I mapped the volume of the file played to the distance from the object, so the closer you get to the object, the louder it would start playing.
